If I could present a visual of this Lauding, it would be my friend Kat. Many Sunday mornings, as I sit toward the back of the church and watch her in the front row, waving her arms in praise to our heavenly father. I am just in awe of her worship. Then there are those special Sundays when not only her arms but her whole body will join the celebration. If you knew Kat’s story, you would know why she has this Lauding in worship.
I think about Mary Magdalene, who was delivered from seven demons. Scholars say she was a prostitute. Jesus just says she had many sins. Sin will never give us what we really desire! The woman at the well told the people, “Here is the man who told me all about myself.” This is what we desire: to be fully known and loved! That is what Jesus does!
Mary Magdalen brought her alabaster box and broke it before the Lord in worship to the one who knew everything about her but loved her. She washed his feet with her tears and her hair. Scandalous, the followers thought, if he just knew what manner of woman this is. They considered the offer to be wasteful and extravagant. They did not understand her worship. Jesus did, and HE defended her and told her, “Your sins are forgiven.” God changes lives! If God be for us, who can be against us? The Bible says.
Do not let others steal your worship, and do not be guilty of stealing the worship of others! Come Let us LAUD him together. I really miss the guy who attended our church for a while, and how he would dance before the lord in worship! But alas, someone who did not understand his deliverance from a prison of addiction could not leave it alone. Can you imagine Free, I say Free, he was. He needed to dance in his freedom! But sadly, someone tried to correct his worship, causing him to seek another place of worship. It may look different for each of us, but we are fully known and loved by God! Our Heavenly Father, creator of heaven and earth, knows every time hair falls from our head. He is mindful of you and your struggles. No one else needs to understand. Let the father defend you! YOU JUST KEEP WORSHIPING!!! L-loud
