Trust/Balance

Luke 14:25Large crowds were now traveling with Jesus, and He turned and said to them, 26“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters— yes, even his own life— he cannot be My disciple. 27And whoever does not carry his cross and follows Me cannot be My disciple.… (from Berean Standard Bible ) looks like a complete conflict to the ten commandments, the fifth one in particular! We find in the fifth commandment that it instructs us to honor our father and mother. There will be times during bible study when you will come across these allusions of conflict. Continue to study; you will find that within the council of the word of God, clarity! Always remember that God is a God of perfect Balance. I say, and allusion to conflict, when you study it out, the reality is there is no conflict at all!

There is a need for balance that must be found within God’s word so do not give up! Keep studying and praying. He says he gives wisdom to them who ask. It is like one of those balance toys that sit on your desk. There is always a specific origin of balance in the creation of the toy to make it operate the way it should. There is a specific origin of balance for our lives and that origin is Jesus Christ! Everything else is secondary and will never come together correctly even our studies until our focus is Him and Him alone!

I am reminded of the hymnal “I have decided to follow Jesus” . A line in the song states though none go with me still I will follow. It sounds sweet but walking it out can be hard. Leaving all you know and love behind to complete a mission we tend to feel so ill equipped. The reality is without him we are! We step out in faith trusting he will direct our path knowing on my own it will be a mess. Yet when we run to the challenge with unreserved abandonment holding on to that precise point of reference JESUS CHRIST! There is no detail he leaves out. He takes care of all the things we cannot even fathom necessary.

He loves us and those we love more than we can imagine! I speak to myself too! We can trust Jesus with it all. We should not need the details or explanation. We serve a good God. I want to follow Jesus’s example and be able to cry before my heavenly Father  “not my will but thine be done” ! To take the stance because I know his will is so much better than mine. His will, though it may be hard even painful, will always accomplish so much more! I do not want to walk in my own reasoning, but lean God’s wisdom! Jesus knew the pain, he searched and asked if there was another way then relinquished his will to the Father’s knowing it was the only way. The only way to open the doors of heaven for us!

God, please help me walk in the balance of your word declaring the goodness of God all the days of my life!!!
