So recently, I feel like God gave me a word. Well, really, I know because this situation with a little heavenly message has happened before, and I did not listen. I started a new job, and God told me do not let it consume me. I pushed that to the side and continued my path (My paths not God’s). It was one of those things that God was allowing me to do, but knew me better than I knew myself. By the time it was all over, I could not sleep, I was not eating, and noticeably losing weight. I dreamed of the job, trying to work everything in my own head, waking up through the whole night. CONSUMED  that is what I was! In tears, I told my husband that if it did not matter what others thought, I would quit. He said quit, and I did. I learned a valuable lesson: God knows me better than I know myself, and I want to listen.

Now God is telling me Do not get distracted! I have printed the message and put the verse from Deuteronomy 4:36 under it, which says, “He made me to hear his voice.” I cannot lose sight of the mission. This fishing mission God has sent us all on to seek and save that which is lost. It is not about building my fan base! It is about pointing souls to Christ. Lost and hurting Souls that need to hear his voice. Because guess what YOU were made to hear his voice too. He wants a personal relationship with you.

Find a Bible and begin reading and learning God’s voice. That beautiful writer’s voice they teach in English class. When you have read enough of a favorite author, you can pick up a page and recognize the writing. When you have read enough of his words, you will recognize his voice when he speaks! You can not help but recognize the voice of love. The one who loved you so very much, he laid down his life, suffered unmeasurable pain and humiliation to open the doors of heaven just for you! Don’t be distracted by the glitz and glamor of the world that will rust and fade. Search for those enduring heavenly treasures. I have always said the only treasure you can take with you is the people you meet along the way. Our fishing mission is to gather up as many as we can before it is too late! Listen to the voice of God and experience the fruit of a life in service to him! Those beautiful fruits are found in Galatians 5:22-23. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-control.
